Collagen powder packaging bags almost never use a single layer of plastic film. Instead, composite packaging materials are used, combining multiple materials with different properties to achieve optimal protection.

    1. Common Composite Material Structures (from outside to inside):
    Outer Layer (Printing Layer/Protective Layer):
BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene): Very common, with excellent printability, high surface gloss, and abrasion and moisture resistance.
PET (Polyester Film): High strength, rigidity, and toughness, with superior gas and moisture barrier properties compared to BOPP.
Matte CPP/Frosted Film: Used to create a high-end tactile and visual experience.

    Middle Layer (Barrier Layer):
Aluminum foil: The preferred material for high-end collagen packaging. It provides excellent moisture, oxygen, and light protection. A very thin layer (6-7μm) of aluminum foil is typically used.
VMPET (aluminized polyester film): A thin layer of aluminum is vacuum-coated onto PET film. It offers excellent barrier and light-blocking properties, lower in cost than aluminum foil, but with slightly lower barrier properties.
Transparent high-barrier film (such as EVOH): If brands want consumers to be able to see the contents and also require high barrier properties, they will use a transparent high-barrier material. However, its moisture resistance is generally still inferior to that of aluminum foil.

    Inner layer (heat-seal layer):
PE (polyethylene): The most common choice, offering excellent heat-sealability, moisture resistance, and safety, as well as being non-toxic.

CPP (Cast Polypropylene): Excellent heat-sealing properties, high-temperature resistance (suitable for high-temperature sterilization products), and stronger than PE.

    2. Typical Material Combination Examples:

    3. High-End Standard (Optimal Protection): BOPP / Aluminum Foil / PE
Explanation: The outer BOPP layer is aesthetically pleasing and easy to print, the middle aluminum foil provides a top-tier barrier, and the inner PE layer is easily heat-sealed.

Features: Completely opaque, with excellent moisture, oxygen, and light-blocking properties. It has a firm feel and rustles when rubbed.
Common economical options: BOPP / VMPET / PE

Explanation: Aluminum-coated film replaces some of the aluminum foil, reducing costs while maintaining good barrier properties.

Features: Typically opaque, the performance is sufficient for most storage environments.

For moisture- and oxygen-sensitive products like collagen powder, composite self-supporting zipper bags with an aluminum foil layer are the most popular and professional choice on the market, providing the most reliable protection and ensuring product stability and efficacy throughout its shelf life. Brands will select the most appropriate composite material based on product positioning, cost, and design requirements (whether transparency is required).
